Must Attend Events in March

Spring is just around the corner and the local event scene is heating up.  We’ve rounded up a few must attend events coming up in the city that definitely need to be added to your social calendar:

Mosey to the American Bookbinders Museum and take a Bookbinders Tour in March. The tours are developed and led by staff who are passionate about connecting history to today’s innovations in technology.

Explore hidden places right in downtown San Francisco during San Francisco by Day on March 10. You’ll end the walking tour by watching the sunset from one of the piers on Embarcadero then head over to Palomino for drinks.

The Super Hero Run 5K on March 10 provides a cape and welcomes costumes at Little Marina Green.

Taste the finest artisan and gourmet chocolates and confections at San Francisco International Chocolate Salon at the San Francisco County Fair Building on March 11.

Beyond Beyond returns to 302 Folsom for The East Cut Third Fridays Series on March 16 with ‘Ways to Kill the Night,’ a two-person show featuring sculptures by Chris Lux and paintings by Sarah Thibault.

Stop by the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) for a cooking demo featuring Aisan Hoss, Oyna Natural Foods on March 17.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins 11:30am on March 17 at 2nd Street and Market Street and ends at the Civic Center, where you’ll find St. Patrick’s Day Festival with entertainment, arts and crafts, Irish exhibitors, food, and kids’ rides until 5pm.

Engage with an interactive Rube Goldberg machine, cocktail crafting demos, and more during Night at the Jewseum: Contraption at the Contemporary Jewish Museum on March 22.

More than 150 of Rauschenberg’s artworks, including prints, sculptures, paintings, and combines will be on view in the retrospective Robert Rauschenberg: Erasing the Rules at the SFMOMA through March 25.

See spectacular arrangements of flowers from around the world and attend scheduled events at Macy’s Flower Show at Macy’s in Union Square from March 25-April 8.

Watch the San Francisco Giants play the Oakland Athletics in an exhibition game at AT&T Park on March 26-27.

Throw brightly colored flour, dance and indulge on Indian food to celebrate the spring festival of Holi on March 31.

Celebrate Easter in the park during Eggstravaganza on March 31 with egg hunts, carnival rides, games, live entertainment, kids’ activities, and a BBQ competition at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park.

The New Work exhibition at SFMOMA introduces three projects by Mexico City–based architecture firm LANZA Atelier, comprising architects Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo. Running from March 31–July 29.

Join the Community Yoga at Westfield San Francisco Centre on Wednesdays in March from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.
