Oktoberfest on Front is back, bringing Bavarian cheer and plenty of reasons to raise a glass. On Friday, September 19, Front Street transforms into a lively block party from 2 pm to 10 pm, complete with stein-holding competitions, beer chugging challenges, live music, and endless games to keep the celebration going. With all the ice-cold beer and hearty food you could ask for, it’s the perfect way to welcome fall in San Francisco.

This year’s celebration supports the neighborhood’s legendary bars, including Schroeder’s, San Francisco’s oldest Bavarian beer hall, along with Harrington’s Bar & Grill and Royal Exchange. Between the three venues, guests can enjoy more than 70 beers on tap, German-inspired specials, and plenty of bites designed for sharing with friends. Come hungry, the food and drink lineup alone is worth the trip.

The street will be buzzing with entertainment, from axe throwing courtesy of Split the Wood to friendly competitions like beer pong. Classic Oktoberfest traditions return with the ever-popular stein-holding and beer-chugging contests, while a vintage VW van photo booth provides the perfect backdrop for capturing memories with your crew. Whether you’re joining in the games or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there’s no shortage of fun on Front Street.

Of course, no Oktoberfest would be complete without live music, and this block party delivers. Dance in the streets to the sounds of Ladyhosen, bringing Bavarian flair, and high-energy favorites from Pop Rocks to keep the crowd moving late into the evening. With food, music, games, and of course, beer, Oktoberfest on Front promises to be one of San Francisco’s most spirited celebrations of the season.
