East Cut Electric Returns With Dazzling New Light Show

Summer nights in San Francisco are about to shine a little brighter. Starting Saturday, July 19th, East Cut Electric, Downtown’s first permanent building light projection, returns with a brand-new installation by acclaimed SMASH Studios.
This year’s work offers a bold contrast: the raw lines of brutalist architecture illuminated by vibrant color and flowing, naturalistic movement. Whether you’re a city explorer or a local night owl, this radiant installation promises to turn The East Cut into your new favorite evening destination.
The projection will run nightly from dusk until 11PM at Avery Lane 424 Folsom Street, with extended hours designed to take full advantage of those warm summer evenings. Stroll through the neighborhood and catch the immersive visual story unfold across the façade—each angle offering something new. The dynamic art piece blends nature-inspired visuals with urban textures, inviting you to slow down, look up, and soak it in.
Visible from multiple points throughout The East Cut neighborhood, this free outdoor experience will run through the fall—making it a must-see for summer and beyond. Grab a friend, bring your camera, and witness Downtown San Francisco reimagined in light.
