Summer Celebration at Make Music San Francisco

Celebrate summer and the rich musical culture of our city at Make Music San Francisco. Make Music San Francisco is a city-wide celebration of San Francisco and the Summer Solstice with music from the city that brought you such greats as the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Dead Kennedys, Avengers, Flipper, Romeo Void, Santana, Journey and Metallica.

Taking place on June 21, the longest day of the year, Make Music San Francisco is a live, free celebration of music with concerts on streets, sidewalks and parks across the city. On this day, Yerba Buena Gardens celebrates San Francisco and the Summer Solstice with a series of pop-up performances. Explore the park from 11am-2pm to find serendipitous and intimate performances from a group of incredible musicians, all selected artists of the YBG Festival Seed Commission program.

Make Music San Francisco is open to all: professionals, amateurs, children, adults, choirs, soloists… anyone with an ear for music is welcome to join and anyone who loves music will want to attend. Performances will take place from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm across San Francisco in community centers, restaurants, shared spaces, back yards, front steps, libraries, local businesses, slow streets, and parks – a truly city-wide celebration of music.

It’s easy to plan your concert experience; just visit the Make Music San Francisco website for your Music Map checklist, an approved list of participants, performance spaces, and collaborating partners.  Some of the nearby venues for Jasper residents include Yerba Buena Gardens, YBCA, Moscone Center, Salesforce Park and 50 Hawthorne Street.

Sounds like a musical day of fun and a wonderful way to usher in the summer season.
