5 Valentine’s Day Tequila Cocktails

Tequila Casa Dragones shares five creative cocktails made by some of the best mixologists in San Francisco and New York to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Two of the four are from local favorites – Foreign Cinema in the Mission and Boulevard Restaurant just beyond our doors along the Embarcadero at Jasper. Mother of Dragones served at Empellon, New York

This Valentine’s Day, enjoy a signature cocktail crafted by beverage Director Noah Small from Empellon, New York: Mother of Dragones. This lime-based cocktail perfectly highlights Casa Dragones Blanco’s herbaceous notes.

Recipe

1 oz. Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco
2 oz of Casa Dragones Blanco
1 oz of fresh lime juice
.75 oz of agave syrup
Smoked salt rim
Shake and strain into a smoked salt rimmed glass.

María Félix served at Foreign Cinema, San Francisco

The hint of citrus in the aroma of Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco is brought to the forefront in this cocktail crafted by cocktail specialist Nicole Beyries at Foreign Cinema. For a romantic finish, this pink cocktail is garnished with a sugared rose petal.

Recipe

2 oz of Casa Dragones Blanco
.25 oz of Combier
.75 oz of rose syrup
1 oz of fresh squeezed lemon
Shake, double strain into a large coupe with a rose sugar rim and float a sugared rose petal on the surface.

L’Avant Garde served at Baccarat Hotel, New York

Inspired by the classic little black dress with Christian Louboutin shoes, Antoine Hodges at Baccarat Hotel crafts a bright, refreshing and aromatic cocktail that has a rich, velvety look. This refreshing cocktail is certainly not your average Valentine’s Day elixir.

Recipe

.75 oz of Casa Dragones Blanco
.75 oz of Cappelletti
.75 oz of Yellow Chartreuse.
75 oz of lime
1/2 bar spoon of activated coconut charcoal
2 dashes of orange bitters
Absinthe rinse
Add all ingredients except absinthe in a mixing tin and shake.
Double strain into a chilled absinthe rinsed coupe.
Garnish with red rose petals.

Heart of the Dragon served at Boulevard Restaurant, San Francisco

Dylan Godwin at Boulevard restaurant in San Francisco crafts the Heart of the Dragon, using grapefruit and hibiscus to accentuate the floral and aromatic notes of Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco. The refreshing ingredients and rich ruby color make the Heart of the Dragon a perfectly themed Valentine’s Day drink.

Recipe

1.5 oz of Casa Dragones Blanco
.5 oz of grapefruit liquor
1 oz of fresh lime juice
2 oz of hibiscus syrup
Shake and strain over fresh ice into a black lava salt rimmed glass.
Garnish with a grapefruit peel.

Roses are Red served at Four Seasons, New York

Roses are Red is a cocktail crafted by Craig Joseph, manager at Four Seasons Ty Bar. Described as a love story by its creator, the cocktail’s unique martini vessel signifies love’s beauty and versatility, its effervescent prosecco represents joyfulness, and the rose embedded in its iceball is a celebration of everlasting love.

Recipe

1 oz of Casa Dragones Blanco
1 oz of Combier Pamplemousse Rose
.5 oz of lemon juice
1/2 glass of Prosecco

Add all ingredients except prosecco in a mixing tin and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with prosecco.
