Roll Into Spring. Ideal Spots to Ride Near Jasper

With the weather warming up, now is a great time to take a Jasper bike out for a spin! With scenic vistas at nearly every turn and bike lanes throughout the City, San Francisco is well-known as a two-wheeled haven for cyclists. The bicycle network makes up hundreds of miles of city streets. With so many venues to visit, we’ve rounded up a few nearby bike friendly locales to explore while striding in style this season.

Rincon Park, The Embarcadero & Folsom St / 0.6 miles / 5 minutes by bike. This beautiful waterfront park features a promenade with a giant bow and arrow sculpture, plus Bay Bridge views. Pack a lunch and bring your camera to capture stunning spring City views.

SFMOMA, 151 Third Street / 0.7 miles / 5 minutes by bike. Pedal your way to SFMOMA and experience an unforgettable visit with friends and family to one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary art in the United States. Stroll through the outdoor sculpture garden, experience the thirty-foot living wall, refuel in one of three energizing eateries, and take in incredible views — all right in the heart of the city. Limited bike parking is available near the museum’s entrance at Howard Street, next to the large outdoor staircase.

Ferry Building Marketplace, One Ferry Building / 0.9 miles / 6 minutes by bike. Grab your bike and spend a day at the at the San Francisco Ferry Building indulging in a feast for the senses with a plethora of merchants. Along with the delightful bites and shopping at the Ferry Building, the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is a huge hit. Utilize your bike basket and stock up on seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, meats and eggs from small regional farmers and ranchers. In addition to shopping and eating, you can visit the CUESA Classroom for Seasonal Cooking Demos by local chefs starting at 11 am, as well as monthly Seasonal Celebrations. After an afternoon of delicious fare, tote your treasures home on two wheels.

Oracle Park, 24 Willie Mays Plaza / 0.7 miles / 6 minutes by bike. You can’t usher in spring without some Giants baseball! See the full 2019 season schedule here. Along with the exciting games of the SF Giants, Oracle Park hosts several other popular events throughout the year.

Yerba Buena Gardens, 750 Howard St. / 0.8 miles / 8 minutes by bike. Pedal down to this perfect place to play, dine, shop or just relax. The new season of the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival opens May 4th. Embarcadero Center, One Embarcadero Center / 1.1 miles / 9 minutes by bike. Spanning four blocks in the heart of downtown San Francisco, Embarcadero Center is one of the largest mixed-use complexes in the Western United States. Featuring a unique history and award-winning architectural design, Embarcadero Center boasts hundreds of shops, restaurants, services and a state-of-the-art multi-plex cinema.

San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is celebrating with a month of fun for all San Francisco cyclists with bike rides, cultural tours and picnics all month long. Among the many monthly events planned, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition hosts the most robust Bike to Work Day, marking it as one of the biggest biking days of the year. This premier city-wide bike event is scheduled for this May 9, 2019 where tens of thousands of people will hop on bikes and pedal to the office. Join the crowd and grab your bike, helmet and celebrate in style with your fellow cyclists this year by stopping by one of the many Energizer Stations located along local bike commute routes providing free beverages, snacks, and good cheer to bicyclists.
