The Final 15 – #45ReasonsRinconHill

Whether you are moving just across town or to San Francisco from afar, you’ve landed in the spot that talks about all the stuff that makes Jasper a heck of a place to call home: The designers and team members behind the building; the cafes, restaurants, galleries and parks that surround us. And the scenes and events that shape our community.

Join us as we journey through the neighborhood and share #45ReasonsRinconHill, a weekly series of fun destinations and spotlights in the place we call home. Watch for the hashtag every weekend on Facebook, where we’ll share a new tip to make the most of your lifestyle at Jasper. Find reasons 31-45 of #45ReasonsRinconHill:

#31 Step outside and enjoy a walk to Brannan Street Wharf. Do some “sittin’ on the dock of the bay”, while you savor an outdoor lunch and the invigorating Bay vista.

#32 Market on Main, a place to discover new tastes, new wines, and new friends is just around the corner from opening in Rincon Hill and just a 7 minute walk away from our doorstep. Learn more here.

#33 Find your “Happy Hour” surrounded by art and drink specials at 111 Minna. The gallery showcases a unique blend of local and international artists, world class DJ’s, live performance, and film screenings in an elegantly urban and ever-changing 4,000 square foot space.

#34 Stroll down to the infamous dive, Red’s Java House, and dig into a great burger and some rich San Franciscan history.

#35 When thirsty, Thirsty Bear Brewing Company is only a half mile away. Craft brews, Spanish tapas & live flamenco performances lure locals to this loft-like spot. Try the Golden Vanilla.

#36 Stop by Socola Chocolatier + Barista at 535 Folsom Street and satisfy your sweet tooth with Cognac Truffles.

#37 Find your “eye” for photography at Pier 24, a modern exhibition space featuring a wide range of fine photography in an open, airy waterfront space.

#38 Make your own morning at Howard Street Coffee Roastery. Go in for in-house roasted beans, and exit with an apple fritter. Ben H L. on Yelp says it best, “The word is out…Howard Street’s apple fritter is legit.”

#39 Make it a date night at James Beard Award winning – Slanted Door, modern Vietnamese fare in a glass-heavy space with bay views. The stroll along the Embarcadero is equally romantic as the cuisine.

#40 Escape to South Park, reminiscent of a London-style city garden. This tree-lined oval garden is a welcoming, sunny spot in the heart of SOMA where you’ll can enjoy your choice of cafes and restaurants on the park’s perimeter or pack a picnic and bring a play date.

#41 Town Hall’s Fat Tuesday, Annual Mardi Gras celebration is the hands down/belly full best excuse in town to eat and drink what you want! You might as well mark it on your calendar now. Tickets sell fast. Best part? You can walk from Jasper.

#42 There’s always something to do within a short walk. Visit the Contemporary Jewish Museum, just a 15 walk away for Free First Tuesdays each month, check the calendar first. $5 – after 5pm every Thursday.

#43 Enjoy a high-end Napa Valley cabernet, or sip a San Francisco-brewed Anchor Steam alongside your spicy, sweet potato fries al Fresco at Gott’s Roadside.

#44 Savor some vegetarian crispy rolls and pineapple fried rice from Osha Thai Restaurant at Four Embarcadero Center.

#45 Join. Ride. Return. Repeat. Hop on a bike and tour the town on 2-wheels. Bay Area Bike Share stations are conveniently located at Howard and 2nd, 2nd & Folsom and 2nd and South Park among other easy to reach locations, making this a convenient way to show a guest your “backyard”.
