Meet Parisa O’Connell and Dig into Design Inspiration at Jasper

Parisa O’Connell collaborated with Butchershop Creative to design and furnish one of the Jasper model residences and consulted to accessorize the whole building. We recently had a chance to chat with Parisa to get a behind the scenes look at the design inspiration. “Crescent Heights really wanted to tell a story with this building. Paying homage to San Francisco Film Noir, we wanted to create an environment that felt at once classic but enriched for 21ST Century Living. I’ve had an amazing time running around the City with my Butchershop Counterpart shopping for some amazing pieces… We can’t wait to unveil it all”, said Parisa.

Q: What was your overall design inspiration at Jasper?

Implicit in the Interior Architecture is the concept of the “Room of all Trades” – a bonus room that allows for peoples passions to finally find a space within their own home. We decided to create a model unit that catered to the ultimate traveler/foodie/techy and was all about modern, clean, comfortable, and luxurious.

Q: Describe your main goal in designing the Common Space and Leasing office:

We added furniture pieces, artwork and accessories to all the common areas. (Stanley) Saitowitz’s interior included many custom built-ins so our vision was really to find textures/materials and items that complemented and brought personality to the clean, modern surroundings. There is a great sense of “now-ness” to the building, but with a nod to the rich history of San Francisco and to its great character.

Q: What are 3 of your favorite trends you are seeing in the market today?

Small subtle hints of mixed metals, Copper, Brass and Chrome. Small hints within a space bring a pop of fun and give a sense of dimensionality.

Deep dark colors. Accent walls or ceilings in saturated colors make a room feel much more inviting and cozy, it’s a way to bring the drama. We created this luscious look with our custom oversized headboard in a deep, dark green giving a backdrop of warmth and coziness to the main interior.

Single statement artwork and mirrors. Be unique, go big. This makes a space feel bigger and less cluttered.

Q: Name 4 of your favorite local spots to shop for the home: There’s no way I can narrow it down to only four:

HD Buttercup
Cavalier
Atys
Hudson Grace
Timothy Oulton
Maker & Moss
Cisco Home
Plantation
Heath Ceramics

…and the list goes on!

Lightning Round:

Polished Copper is the new black.
